My Journey in Aquaponics

Hi, I’m Cedric Fayolle — entrepreneur, educator, and passionate advocate for clean, sustainable food systems.

I began my aquaponics journey over a decade ago, learning from global pioneers like Murray Hallam. Over the past 8+ years, I’ve actively worked as a designer, installer, and trainer — helping families, schools, and commercial clients across Mauritius build successful aquaponics systems adapted to real-world conditions.

With a strong background in education and years of research, I focused on improving the systems I learned — especially around one of the biggest challenges in aquaponics: maintenance. My design formula prioritizes minimum-maintenance solutions, with innovations in filtration, circulation, and nutrient flow that reduce workload without compromising performance.

This unique, self-engineered approach sets my methodology apart from the general information found online or in global templates — making it more sustainable and more suited for both home growers and commercial operations.

What Sets My Approach Apart

While there are countless aquaponics courses out there, this one stands apart — not just for what it teaches, but how it was built.

Backed by nearly a decade of hands-on system design and on-site service, my course is the result of real-world testing, constant refinement, and client experience across all system sizes.

What makes it different?

Minimized maintenance through engineered filtration
Balanced, self-enriching ecosystems
Low-cost, gravity-fed operation with optimized flow design

It’s more than just a course — it’s a practical framework developed to help you build smarter and grow better, whether you’re starting small or scaling up.

Filtration — Reinvented from the Ground Up

I developed a custom, self-engineered filtration system that goes beyond off-the-shelf setups. Built for clarity, balance, and minimal intervention, this filtration approach is one of the most efficient, low-maintenance systems you'll find — designed with specific formula ratios for real-world reliability.

Circulation That Powers the Whole System

One of the core innovations in my approach is the use of gravity-fed circulation, carefully formulated to maintain optimal flow rates that naturally support oxygenation, nutrient distribution, and waste breakdown — all without over-reliance on pumps.
By engineering the system’s design around gravity and balance, each element — water, plants, and fish — supports the other in a self-enriching cycle that’s more efficient, more stable, and easier to manage over time.

Durable, Low-Maintenance System Architecture

From home gardens to large-scale systems, I specialize in high-end, concrete-based aquaponics designs built to last. These systems are uniquely formulated for structural integrity, ease of access, and low maintenance — ideal for serious growers who want long-term performance with minimal upkeep.

After trying and failing with a DIY system, I enrolled in Cedric’s course. The section on filtration and flow design alone is worth the price. My second attempt — using his method — has been running smoothly for 8 months now.
